Jim and his horse crazy wife, Kim, feel blessed to live on their 18 acre paradise. From the red barns and pastures, to the gardens and creek, life abounds here on the farm. We are located about four miles south of Mt Angel- just a quick fifteen minutes to I-5. The Percheron Art Studio was named after Jim’s gentle giant, Shadow, a grey draft horse whose paddock adjoins the studio deck so he can share in the process of learning by means of carrots, apples and affection from all who partake of “his” studio. The other horses, goats, and chocolate labs always extend a welcome to all.

Jim was an amazing art teacher in Canby for over 30 years, retiring in 2017 after being named On Point Teacher of the Year. Although his medium of choice is painting with acrylics, he has experience working with and instructing a wide variety of artistic endeavors.
